Plain-English terms.

1. What you get when you install Sephir

Sephir is a Chrome / Firefox extension plus a thin web dashboard at sephir.app. The product is divided in two tiers:

• Free. Permanently free. BYOK across every supported provider, single-turn chat in any tab, selection popover, page summarize, local conversation history. No account required.
• Pro Lifetime. A one-time payment unlocks the multi-turn agent loop, tool calls, saved skills, and the audit timeline. All future Sephir updates are included for as long as the product exists.

When you install the extension or buy a Pro Lifetime licence, you agree to these terms.

2. Pricing & purchase

The Pro Lifetime tier is sold for a one-time price displayed on the pricing page at the time of purchase. The displayed price is the final price; sales tax / VAT may be added at checkout per your jurisdiction.

We do not run monthly subscriptions, do not auto-renew, and do not silently retry expired cards. If a future hosted-AI product ships under the Sephir brand, it will be a separate, opt-in subscription — your lifetime licence covers the extension surface, not inference we host.

3. Trial period

The first seven (7) days after a Pro Lifetime purchase are a free-trial window. No credit card is required to start the trial; purchase activates Pro features for the full lifetime when the trial ends.

4. Refunds

Refunds are available within thirty (30) days of purchase via the Polar customer portal linked from your account page. Click the button, get the refund — no email thread, no retention questions.

After thirty days, refunds are reviewed case-by-case. Email hello@sephir.app and we'll respond within five business days.

5. What "lifetime" means

"Lifetime" means the lifetime of the Sephir product, not the buyer. As long as Sephir is published in the Chrome Web Store / Firefox AMO and the sephir.app domain is maintained by us, your licence is active and every update is included.

If Sephir is ever sunsetted, we will:

1. Email lifetime holders at least 60 days in advance.
2. Open-source the last extension build under a permissive licence so the product can keep working without our servers.
3. Process refunds for purchases made within the previous 12 months.

6. BYOK (bring your own key)

When you connect a provider with your own API key, you are the customer of record with that provider. Sephir does not proxy or buffer your API calls — your prompts and responses move directly between your browser and the provider you configured.

You are responsible for compliance with that provider's terms of service and for any usage costs they bill you.

7. ChatGPT Plus OAuth (Codex)

When you sign in with ChatGPT Plus, Sephir uses your browser session with chatgpt.com to route prompts through the Codex endpoint. You remain the customer of record with OpenAI; your ChatGPT Plus / Pro subscription is the basis for that access.

If OpenAI changes the Codex endpoint or its access rules, Sephir's OAuth integration may stop working until we update the extension. We commit to shipping a patched build within forty-eight (48) hours of any breaking host change, where technically possible.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Sephir to:

• Scrape third-party sites at a rate that violates their terms.
• Generate content that violates applicable law in your jurisdiction.
• Circumvent rate limits or paywalls on AI providers in a way that violates those providers' terms.
• Reverse-engineer the extension to ship a deceptive clone.

9. Your data

Conversation history, prompts, folders, and BYOK keys created through Sephir remain yours. They live in your browser's local storage unless you opt in to a future encrypted-sync feature.

Account-level metadata (email, hashed password, Polar customer ID) is governed by the Privacy Policy.

10. Availability

Sephir is provided on an "as available" basis. We aim for high availability on the sephir.app dashboard but do not guarantee 100% uptime. The extension itself runs locally and is not dependent on our servers for core functionality.

11. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sephir's total liability for any claim related to the product is limited to the amount you paid for your Pro Lifetime licence in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for losses caused by AI provider downtime, API key misuse, or data you failed to back up.

12. Changes to these terms

We will email lifetime holders at least thirty (30) days before any material change. Minor clarifications take effect immediately on publication and update the "Last updated" date at the top.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Sephir is incorporated. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
